O Auto da Compadecida (A Dog's Will) is a Brazilian classic movie based on a 1955 play, written by Ariano Suassuna, one of Brazil's most prestigious authors.
It's a comedy set in northeastern Brazil. It combines elements of a traditional popular literature, known as cordel, with a mix of pop culture and religious tradition.
In 2020, I was tasked with creating a short promo to celebrate the movie's 20th anniversary. Our goal was to make a piece that would pay homage to the movie's essence and to that region of Brazil.
